British Red Cross
Bringing stories of recovery after crisis to life on Hope Street
Background
We were tasked by the British Red Cross to create a campaign that celebrated the long-term impact of their international work – work made possible by the support of players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Our challenge was to connect audiences in the UK with powerful stories of hope and resilience from across the world, showing how communities recover and rebuild after crisis.
Our approach
We wanted to bring stories of hope to life in a way that emotionally connected audiences to the British Red Cross’s work and its partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery. Our idea was to create a physical, immersive experience that people could step into - a place where the public could literally and metaphorically open the door to hope.

What we did
We conceived and produced Hope Street - a free immersive exhibition at Battersea Power Station inviting the public to discover real stories of hope from around the world. Visitors explored five doors, each revealing a powerful story of recovery and resilience from countries including Türkiye, Eswatini, Syria, Ukraine, and Bangladesh.
Timed with new British Red Cross research showing that 70% of UK adults feel hopeful about the future, the installation brought to life the finding that community, kindness, and recovery are key sources of optimism. Visitors were also invited to ‘Post Hope’ - writing and sharing their own letters of hope for the future in a dedicated post box.

Impact & results
The installation captured public attention and social engagement, helping the British Red Cross bring its international impact to life in a powerful, human way. It strengthened the charity’s connection with People’s Postcode Lottery and deepened public understanding of how their funding directly creates hope around the world.
