Why earned media is the perfect landscape for health & lifestyle brands to gain the trust of mid-life women

The Bold Thinking Series

The spending power of mid-life women is in the ascendant.

Their economic power as earners, consumers, purchasers and influencers has been flourishing for decades.

Now, according to the latest statistics*, mid-life women are increasingly becoming creators of wealth, with projections that they are on course to control 75% of all household spending by 2028.

And the perfect place for health and lifestyle brands to reach this all-important demographic is still earned media, according to Top Sante’s Editor-in-Chief Katy Sunnassee.

Top Sante is the UK’s leading monthly health magazine and has a combined online and print readership of around 500,000.

Our upcoming Newsroom event for health and lifestyle brands

Katy will be in conversation with Khush Sachdave, Head of Newsroom at Boldspace on Weds June 11th for the latest Newsroom Event, How Health & Lifestyle Brands Build Trust Through Earned Media.

Katy will be discussing the topics that matter to mid-life women and why health & lifestyle brands should care.

She will also provide valuable insight into why building trust through earned media should be paramount to health and lifestyle brands.

She said: “Although going viral on social media is often seen as the pinnacle of success, it doesn’t always translate to sales of a product/service. Social media is fast, free and throwaway.

“Trusted media, on the other hand, has already earned a reputation for being a go-to source. Women who pay for such media show they value and trust the advice in that publication and are, arguably, more likely to buy into the advice and products showcased within such a publication than they are from seeing something on social media alone. Being in print is still of value as it’s seen as authoritative and helps lend weight to any product or person featured within its pages.”

Katy said: “I’m very much looking forward to connecting with like-minded brands as, firstly, I’m always on the lookout for the latest innovations in the health and wellness space. Secondly, it’s important for me to build relationships with brands and for us to find collaborative ways to work together so we can all help women feel their best.”
