Boldspace Newsroom launches, led by former MailOnline Executive News Editor Khushwant Sachdave
The Boldspace Newsroom, a central agency resource available to all clients, will support client teams with shaping the most compelling news stories, copy and effective distribution strategies, as well as providing media training and adding to the agency’s ongoing strategic media insight and intelligence.
In her role as Head of Newsroom, Sachdave will be responsible for leading each of these services, with support from across the existing team of communications specialists drawn from advertising, marketing, and PR.
Sachdave spent six years as a news desk executive at the Daily Mail in positions including Deputy News Editor and Special Projects Editor. Following this, she spent four years as Daily Mail Showbiz Editor and a further two years as Executive News Editor at MailOnline, before leaving to join ITV News and This Morning as a News and Multimedia Producer. Her most recent role was Press & Media Director at Aspirations Academies Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust with 16 schools across the country, where she led media reputation management for three years.
As recognition of her journalistic talent, Khushwant is also the recipient of four Johnston Press Awards: Trainee Journalist of the Year, Feature Writer of the Year, Offbeat Story of the Year, and News Writer of the Year.
Launching the Boldspace Newsroom is a major development for the agency as it continues to build the most comprehensive, progressive and ambitious offering in the PR and advertising marketplace. Boldspace will surpass 40 employees in the first quarter of this year, with clients including Post Office, Direct Line and Fridays.
Mike Robb, Co-Founder and CEO at Boldspace, said: “We are building an agency that sees earned media as a craft of the same importance and skill as brand strategy, creative, and design. Launching the Newsroom is a key step in developing a truly integrated offer that does exactly that, and I am so pleased that Khush has agreed to join us and bring her incredible experience with some of the country’s biggest media outlets to Boldspace clients.”
Commenting on her appointment, Khushwant Sachdave said: “I am so excited to be taking on this role. Building a Newsroom service at an agency like Boldspace, with such a fresh and progressive approach to PR, not to mention a fast-growing list of interesting clients, is going to be a fantastic challenge. There is a very long list of things we want to achieve, and I can’t wait to get started.”
