Background
1783 is a sports and entertainment insurance brokerage that quickly built an impressive client roster across the UK and US. In a competitive market dominated by long-standing relationships, 1783 needed to evolve from a successful young business into a trusted brand that people not only heard about but believed in.
How we got there
The world of sports and entertainment is driven by passionate people, none more so than agents who hustle to ensure their clients are always at the top of their game. This aligned perfectly with 1783’s brokers, each a business in their own right. We defined their bold space as “power brokers,” positioning 1783 as trailblazers in an outdated world of ‘middlemen.’
Defining our positioning
Drawing parallels between 1783’s strategic, passionate approach and the competitive spirit of the sports and entertainment world, we positioned them as more than risk mitigators. They became trusted confidants, adding strategic value and protecting their clients’ passions. This led to the strapline: “Insuring your passion.”
Brand messaging and tone of voice
We developed brand statements, defining 1783’s purpose as “partnering with the world’s greatest creative minds in sports and entertainment to fuel and fulfil their ambitions.” Their values - heart, hustle, influence, and always-on - shaped a progressive, slightly rebellious tone of voice. Expert yet emotive, their messaging reflected the confidence of trailblazers.
Visual identity
We evolved the brand’s visual identity, using the 58-degree tilt in the logo to create a dynamic design system. A strong, stable colour palette exuded trust and strength, while image guidelines put the perspective backstage or in the dugout, capturing the action and the client experience.

Photography and website
To emphasise personal branding, we conducted a bold black-and-white photoshoot of the team, showcasing their influence. The brand came to life in a new website, where we managed UX/UI, design, copy, and build, creating a digital presence that solidified 1783 as leaders in their field.
