Skytra appoints Boldspace to PR brief
Skytra, the leading fintech in the air travel industry, has appointed brand building, communications and analytics agency Boldspace to lead its PR and communications on a retained basis.
A wholly owned subsidiary of global aviation giant Airbus, Skytra was established in London in 2019 to enable the air travel industry to benefit from greater risk management against volatile revenues. The air travel industry generates $1 trillion in revenue annually and pre-covid stats show 90% of flights are booked less than 90 days before travel, creating significant cash flow and profit margin challenges, which Skytra is helping address. Hedging airline revenues is now possible, based on the world’s first FCA regulated Skytra Price Indices.
Boldspace will drive PR and communications for Skytra, delivering strategy, creative and all execution as the firm seeks to raise awareness of new propositions coming to market in the next 12-months. The London-based business will be onboarded to the agency’s data and analytics platform, BoldLens, to enable it to monitor, track and optimise all ongoing communications activity in real-time.
The account will be led by Boldspace co-founder Mike Robb, reporting to Skytra Head of Public Relations & Marketing, Emma Mackenzie.
Emma Mackenzie, Head of Public Relations & Marketing at Skytra, said: “There has never been a more important time for the aviation sector as it reflects on the huge financial challenges of the pandemic, so now is the time to significantly enhance how we tell our story to the outside world and demonstrate what Skytra can bring to airlines right across the globe. Boldspace is the perfect fit for us as an ambitious, fast-growing business; the integration of disciplines with a data-led approach is exactly what we need, and we are looking forward to working with the team in the years ahead.”
Mike Robb, Co-founder and Managing Director of Boldspace, said: “The potential of Skytra to revolutionise the way the aviation sector manages risk is enormous, and the importance of the firm’s mission as we emerge from two of the most difficult years for the industry in history cannot be understated. There are hugely exciting things coming from Skytra and we are honoured to have been trusted to deliver the profile the business deserves in the marketplace.”
Boldspace now has more than 30 clients, including nine in the fintech space, and the appointment follows a range of other wins in the sector in recent months including Centtrip, QNTMPAY and SteelEye. The win follows expansion of the Boldspace team to 20 over the summer and with further expansion planned in the final quarter of 2021.
