Deel appoints Boldspace to PR brief

Mike Robb

Deel, the leading global compliance and payroll solution, has appointed Boldspace to lead its UK PR on a retained basis following a competitive pitch.

Boldspace will run press office and campaigns for the fast-growing tech business as it continues to raise its public profile. The appointment comes at an exciting time for the company which has shown phenomenal growth since it was founded in 2019. It became a unicorn in less than two years and its series D fundraise in October 2021 valued them at $5.5 billion, making it the highest valued company in the sector globally. It currently has over 8,000 customers in over 150 countries.

Deel was launched with the aim of using its global reach and technology suite to connect talent with opportunity, fulfilling the promise of a borderless flow of ideas and creativity in a way that benefits businesses, employees and the broader economy.

The account will be led by Boldspace Client Director Tom Yazdi, reporting to Kiran Wylie, EMEA Communications at Deel.

Kiran Wylie, EMEA Communications Director at Deel, said: “Our rapid expansion as a business, combined with the scale of the opportunity as more companies turn to remote hiring, means we need a PR partner who can be agile and reactive as well as strategic. Boldspace demonstrated that they fit the bill, combining smart, creative thinking with excellent delivery. We’re delighted to be working with them as we embark on the next chapter in our growth.”

Tom Yazdi, Client Director at Boldspace, said: “Deel is at the vanguard of a revolution in the way we work, with the pandemic accelerating the trend towards remote working. Their innovative hiring, payroll and compliance solution is perfectly suited to the modern, progressive businesses embracing the new world of work. We are excited about working with Kiran and the Deel team to position them as a leading player in the remote working sector.”

The appointment follows significant expansion at Boldspace in recent months, with the recent appointments of Steph Bailey as Chief Communications Officer from FleishmanHillard and Aivory Gaw as Chief Brand Officer from WPP. The agency now has more than 30 clients across a wide range of sectors including the Post Office, Fridays and Silverstone.
