Challenger paint brand Pickleson appoints Boldspace to PR brief

Nick Ford-Young

The brand – born in 2020 from a desire to create beautiful but sustainable paint – brings vibrant, non-toxic, highly durable paints to a new generation of conscious consumers that do not want to compromise between quality, style or sustainability.

Boldspace has been tasked with creating awareness of the Pickleson brand amongst its key target audience, with specific focus on the Protego Antimicrobial product. The work will be led by Boldspace Co-founder and Managing Director Mike Robb, reporting to Pickleson Co-founders Alex and Rachael.

Rachael Green, Co-founder at Pickleson, said: “Pickleson is all about ‘Sexy Paint Made Responsibly’ – offering people the ability to choose paint that is both beautiful in colour and form but won’t harm their family. Our paint is environmentally-friendly and more sustainable than what is currently on the market. We’ve seen significant interest since launch, including Fortnum & Mason painting a floor of their London store in Pickleson paint and being featured in The List Directory 2021 by House & Garden. It’s now time to take the brand to the next level. We’re excited to partner with Boldspace to help us deliver that.”

Mike Robb, Co-founder and Managing Director at Boldspace said: “Pickleson is exactly the type of brand Boldspace was built for: mission-driven, disrupting an established market with a handful of big players, and a product that is bringing real value to its customers and the world around them. We’re delighted to be working with the team to help shape and share this story.”

Pickleson offer a range of 31 colours to choose from, including the ability to colour match to anything across four finishes. The business has recently launched a new antimicrobial paint, Protego Antimicrobial, with anti-bacterial silver ions that can be added to any colour base, effective against bacteria, fungi, moulds and other deadly microbes.
